Role of Mobile Apps in Agriculture

Introduction- When people think about Agriculture images of tractors, hut, cow, baffalow, bullock-carts and people working hard on the fields come over our minds. Indeed the time has changed and technology has now moved into the agricultural sector. Now a days most significant, technology adoption is the inclusion of mobility. Some of the smartphone apps are also designed to assist farmers in a variety of ways, like information of new released variety, crop insurance, mandi prices, fertilizers, machinery, govt schemes horticulture, crop management etc. Also, some of the mobile apps also inform farmers about weather-related data, new agricultural technologies, expert advice, replies from farmers’ queries, etc. Among all this, many of the apps also provide complete information relevant to soil quality, fertilizer use etc.

AgriApp :-
AgriApp is a smartphone application, based on Android. It provides detail knowledge on crop production, crop health, agricultural smart farming, and related services.

AgriMarket :-
The app, started by India’s government. The AgriMarket smartphone app can be used within 50 km from the location of the user to get the market rate of crops in the markets.

Agri Media Video App :-
It is an online platform providing producers, input / output , retail farming, and fulfillment of Agriculture services on an one place. Farmers can discussed with agri experts and solve their problem related agriculture.

Crop Insurance :-
The Crop Insurance smartphone app launched by Union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister, Sh Radha Mohan Singh. The application helps farmers estimate the insurance premium for reported crops and gives cut-off dates and organization addresses for their crop and place.

Iffco Kisan App :-
It is a small Android app in terms of memory with an easy interface to use. This smartphone application gives detail knowledge about the advance agriculture advice, current mandi prices, and various farming techniques. The app also gives information about weather forecasting.

Kisan Yojana :-
This app provides information or latest technology launched by govt. of India to the rural people. It also gives the information about the current schemes of the respective states. This smartphone app saves the time and travel cost of farmer to to the Govt office.

Kisan Suvidha :-
Kisan Suvidha is an smartphone app established by the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to support farmers instantly by giving them with useful information. The application comes in many Indian languages.

RML Farmer – Krishi Mitr :-
RML Farmer is a one of its kind agricultural app where farmers can keep up with the latest commodity and mandi prices, precise usage of pesticides and fertilizers, farm and farmer related news, weather forecast and advisory.

Pusa Krishi :-
This app was developed in 2016 by the Union Agriculture Minister to help farmers to get information about technologies developed by Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), which will help in increasing returns to farmers.

Kheti badi :-
β€˜Kheti-Badi’ is a social initiative android Application. The android app Kheti badi developed with the objective to provide detail information and issues related to organic farming and natural farming in India.
